Moving Away From Familiarity

We began the day early. I had googled our destination and printed it out, as my little man became my co-driver. We were going to drive into Kuala Lumpur city! Usually we took the commuter train, as I have never dared to drive into KL. It's about time I did.

Once into Jalan Raja Abdullah, take the first left, then left again.

We ended up in a dead end.

Next time, its back to the Commuter trains.

Well Done for the attempt! Please don't give up!

In my case, 6 months after being widowed, I drove to my friend's place which was approx 50miles away with a print-out of our route, and my 10year old was the co-pilot. We ended up missing one junction but arrived almost an hour later!

Since that, I cringed at the thought of driving anywhere out of the city. :(

But I then got a more reliable car, bought a sat nav where I could just punch in the postcode & also got myself a British driving license. Result - I've driven to Scotland, Manchester & London! :)

Don't give up because we need to be independent and feel good about being independent! Keep it up.

Thanks D.

Never a "give-up"er. Next plan is to get a Sat Nav, the many things on my "will do" list. Been planning to get one for ages.

Should start fulfilling my 'wish list'. The only time I start doing things for myself is when I am 'depressed'. Last weekend was one of those days. Got myself an overpriced wardrobe.

PS: don't go to IKEA with a credit card when you are depressed.....
